September 24, 2022 I read the transcript for the last lecture of Randy Pausch and watched a video clip of him giving it. It was interesting and enlightening. I loved that he talked about his childhood dreams. Not all of them were realized completely and some were not realized in the way he may have envisioned but he did acheive them. I loved that they were things that he had thought about since his youth and didn't just cast them aside as childish pursuits or as unattainable. I think that that was one of the keys to his success. If you have a dream and you dont spend time thinking about it, mapping it out, imagining it actually happending and desiring to have it, then it's a fleeting dream that has very little chance of happening. I do think that it is important to have dreams! I even believe that it's important to have big, imaginative and unrealistic dreams. September 17,2022 This week in my entreprenurial endeavors I had some great insights. A lesson that I learned while reading the book Half the Sky this week was from the following quote, "Engineering an economic takeoff is really about using...resources most efficiently. I realized that this is actually a weekness of mine. I need to manage my resources more efficiently. Both in my home and in my small business. I need to keep better records and evaluate my data as I move forward. Something that I learned a little abour is an NGO. This is something that I want to take time to research. I want to know what it takes to start and run a Non Government Organization by reading and by speaking to someone at a functioning NGO. I want to make a contribution to one that I was reading about.
